It seems there will be no opportunity to voice a comment on EcoDensity at next Tuesday's City Council meeting, so I found out about a way to send a message directly to Mayor Sam Sullivan on HIS OWN web site, where he has posted a special public survey on EcoDensity.

Finally, here was a public consultation that would go directly the key policy maker! After all, this was no City or Ministry site, but MAYOR SULLIVAN'S OWN WEB SITE; indeed, his own intellectual property, just like the subject of the survey itself.

Not half-way through the 30-question survey, there was one multiple choice question on EcoDensity's objectives that stated "Check any that apply." Since I didn't see any relevant choices, especially not the first one that came to mind--I looked for "None of the Above." It wasn't there, so I skipped on.

At the end of the survey, I clicked the submit button.

Oops, there was an error. I was told that "Check any that apply" actually meant "check at least one item." (See attached.)

Feeling a bit like Alice in Wonderland, I realized nothing in Vancouver means what it says, or is how it appears. And, if you try to have an opinion, the next you will hear is "off with her head."
